This handmade dish is an Ikebana style vase. Ikebana is a type of Japanese flower arranging that has been popular since the 7th century.
After forming this bowl on my wheel, it was fired to bisque. It was then decorated with a light turquoise blue/green glaze and re-fired to a temperature of 2100deg F.
The kenzan (spike for flowers) is not included but can be included for an additional fee if you send me a message.
